By this time you high school seniors have probably received your financial aid offers from the colleges to which you have been accepted.
If you haven’t, you need to make sure you are checking your college portal on a daily basis. This is the place on your college’s website where you receive to-do notices.

Remember that May 1 is the deadline most colleges establish for you to do their Intent to Register. So, set aside a chunk of time in the next week with your parents to do the following as you look at these financial aid offers so that you can not only commit to your college of choice but also accept which financial aid you want to receive.
- Understand the cost of attendance (COA)
- Figure out how much financial aid you’re getting
- Do some simple math
- Compare your offers
