Before we even finish praying . . .

One time I had a particularly hard day teaching English at our little high school. Challenging kids. Extra duty responsibilities. Behind on grading a huge pile of papers.
And I knew that more work lay before me at home–fixing dinner, doing laundry, getting kids to do their homework.

“And Lord, what’s for dinner?” I somewhat joked.

However, when I got home, there was a complete pot roast meal on the counter, complete with veggies, salad, and soft French bread.

God knew my day was going to be hard and prompted my friend June to fix dinner for me — even before I knew the day was going to be rough, even before I prayed.

God did this for Abraham’s servant, as we read in Genesis 24. Even before the servant finished praying, God had sent Rebekah to the well to draw water–and Rebekah would consent to marrying Isaac, Abraham’s son. We serve and pray to a God who knows our needs, knows our prayers in advance, and knows how to help us find the answers.

How has God answered YOUR prayers before you’ve even finished?
“Lord, thank you for answering before we even finish our prayer.”
