When God saved us from disaster

Have you ever felt an angel’s presence or protection? Or the hand of the Lord swooping you away from a disaster?
I have–many times in the car, naturally, but there was one particular time that stands out.
I was driving all four kids in our purple van 150 miles away to my mom and dad’s house in the country on the south side of Sacramento. All the way there . . . let me repeat that . . . all the way there they begged me to stop for food, drinks, sightseeing.
I just wanted to get there.
In the final few-miles stretch on the two-lane road, Bethany, just a toddler, said, “Mommy, can we stop and see the cows?”
Sigh. Not again. “No–we’re almost there.”
“Please, Mom. Please.”
And then the three others chimed in.
‘Come on, Mom. ” “Just a few seconds, Mom.” “It’s for Bethany, Mom.”
And for some reason as I headed toward the rural intersection with the dairy just past the intersection on the right, my foot shifted from the accelerator to the brake. And in that much of an instant a car speeded into the intersection right in front of me. It had run its stop sign.
Had I my foot not moved from the accelerator to the brake, we would have been t-boned by that racing car . . . and probably dead.
I know there are many more times when I’ve felt supernatural protection that seemingly defied the laws of nature or human nature.
What’s your story?
“Thank you for your protection, Lord.”
