Did you know you are precious?

After reading this verse this morning, I stopped to make a list of things that are precious.
1. Babies
2. Puppies, kittens, newborn calves, foals, fawns . . . this could go on for pages
3. Grandmas and grandpas hugging kids
4. Kids dressed up for Easter
5. Family photos
6. Family jewelry and other heirlooms
7. Old, classic, first edition books
And then I started thinking in another vein:
1. Time
2. Health
3. Demonstrated compassion
4. Faith
5. Faithfulness
6. Love for others
7. Hopefulness
8. Positivity
I started making these mental lists, because I wondered if I had to DO something to be precious in God’s sight. But then I remembered this teaching: “But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved” (Ephesians 2:4-5).
I am precious in God’s sight because of Christ’s gift on the cross. Therefore, I owe it to him to live my life in such a way that it is a gift to others.
Give yourself to others this week before Easter to demonstrate Christ’s love.
